The NerMobile Project (by Alon Walter - Israel)    Go home

What is a "NerMobile"?
"Ner" in Hebrew means "candle".  NerMobile is a mobile machine which it's sole source of energy is 2 candles.
Why did I build the NerMobile?
The Thechnion institute hosts every now and then a contest based on practical science. The inspiration for the contests was NASA's project to explore Mars. The concept of this contest is to imitate NASA's mobile scout, hence, to be as efficient as possible with the energy source while advancing.
I decided to participate in the contest...
How did you build the NerMobile?
Wheels
First - connecting the wheels together (a round stick + 2 Pringles Aluminum bases)

Manipulated platform
Then - Manipulating a metal platform into this...

Manipulated platform - with sleeve on it
Third - sticking some inflatable sleeve with a plastic bottle connected at the other end.

Manipulated platform - with sleeve on it - in a stiff sleeve
Then - Putting the last thing in a stiff sleeve.

All together
Fifth - Connecting all the stuff together and adding things that I didn't mention above...

All together - another angle
Finally - Looking from another angle (No particular reason - just for fun...)

When did you build the NerMobile?
May 1999.
Where did you build the NerMobile?
In my apartment - Nesher (near Haifa), Israel.
Who built the NerMobile with me?
No one. (especially not Alex Jourovsky... ;-) )
Well, I'm all out of 'wh'-questions, so I guess that's it...
